Course Overview

Course Synopsis

This course addresses how and why businesses operate the way they do. It covers topics such as nature and scope of business, sole proprietorship, partnership, Joint Stock Company, co-operative societies, business combinations, marketing, advertising, channels of distribution, business finance, management etc. In this way this course will introduce students to the dynamics of global economics and how businesses operate within a global economy.

Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Identify and analyze the key concepts, terminology and principles guiding formation of a Business Enterprise.
  • Find out some of the reasons why people set up businesses. It could be preceded with the motivations for becoming self-employed.
  • Appreciate the role of Financial Manager.
  • Recognize the key ethical ramifications of purposeful business decisions.
  • Know the formation of a Business Enterprise.
