Course Synopsis
|
MCM610 is a comprehensive course designed to inform and update students about the present law and ethics position of mass media both nationally and internationally. It will cover topics like journalistic code of ethics, ethics and responsibilities of mass media in the light of western and Islamic point of view, ethics in Public relations and advertising, media laws, Copyright Ordinance 1962 and freedom of expression and its importance in a society. The course will also address in detail the electronic media laws and the structure and functions of Pakistan Electronic Media regulatory Authority (PEMRA). It will help students in understanding the need and importance of the laws in the light of the history in which they were established.
